What’s New for Winterplace Resort for 2018-2019
Winterplace continues investment in State of the art Snow Making upgrades
Over the years Winterplace has developed a reputation for the ability to make Snow and Plenty of it! Locally everyone calls this the “Winterplace Blizzard”.
The resort currently boasts 190 snow guns of which 89 are fully automated fan guns. This season Winterplace has continued the commitment to improving snowmaking by installing over 6000 feet of new “snow making” air and water supply lines. Terry Pfeiffer, Winterplace President stated “Snow making upgrades over the years have allowed us to reduce our start-up time for snow making and have resulted in one of the most efficient snow making systems in the industry. These investments support our core Goal of “Providing one of the finest skiing experiences in the South east”. “Once it turns cold we can cover the mountain with a blanket of snow allowing our guest to get to the Fun Faster”!
“Winterplace purchases top of line Rental Equipment”.
With a focus on those new to the sport, Winterplace has purchased additional top of the line Rossignol skis and snowboard’s to add to their rental fleet. Having state of the art rental equipment combined with Terrain-Based Learning™ (TBL) learning areas is key to having a successful experience. Winterplace is the most southern resort committed to Terrain Based Learning™ (TBL)Terrain–BasedLearning™does away with the traditional defensive approach to traditional ski lessons. Instead of starting on a slope, where never-evers are forced to immediately brace for a fall, new skiers are taught to respond to the feel of various terrain features in a primarily flat space. Winterplace is partnered with “Snow Operating” the developers of Terrain Based Learning™ to bring this award winning methodology to their slopes.
